Awesome Day

Today is a Good Day for an Awesome Day

I received this email from the president at Dad's community today.  Sounds like his week has started off great!  I still can't believe he pied Stacie.  She's one of his favorites.  Stacie tells me that Dad greets her every morning and asks if she has seen me.  Unfortunately, I have not been this week as the kids were off school Monday and Tuesday.  We had a friend over and took in a movie, so I focused on just being a mom, which I needed to do!  Yesterday, I dropped off a couple of things I picked up for Dad in Conway and will visit today or tomorrow.  I'm thankful Dad's community encourages him to participate in special events.  They recognize that he is still capable of many things and they don't let him miss the opportunity to toss a pie at a friendly face!  Stacie is a good sport!

With Dad's recent trips to the ER, I'll be getting him in for follow-ups with his primary doctor as well as a cardiologist.  The dermatologist is next on my list!  I've been running so much with getting things settled back in AR and taking care of everyone here at home that I haven't made any trips with dad away from his community.  Since he's able to get around pretty well, I thought these doctor visits would be our first outing.  I'll make sure to pick up a little sweet treat too.  A trip to any doctor isn't complete without a "reward" for going, right?  Let's be honest, a milkshake or fish sandwich is good for the soul!

* Of note, the cardiologist has no cardiac concerns.  No head injury from the fall either.  Never hurts to be checked out though!

And Then There's Tipper
This dog is such a sweetie!  Tipper continues to amaze me with her ability to rush into a room when food is offered.  I see a hop and skip from her every single day.  She has found her "lookout" in the little hall between our master bedroom and the living room.  She keeps her eye on everyone and doesn't miss a beat!  She goes between her "lookout" and our bedroom at night.  Guess she gets warm on the carpet and aims for the cool tile.  I usually have to wake her up in the morning though because she's comfy and sleeping hard.

I have not taken her to visit Dad in a few weeks because the heat seemed to get to her.  We have visited mostly outside on the shaded porch area, but even inside the building is a bit warm for her.  The community does well to make sure the elders/residents are comfortable, but Tipper still has on her thick coat.  So, now that the weather is cooling down, she'll be more comfortable to go visit.

Tipper stands guard by the table because she knows there are
treats on the table.  My dogs like to chase the ball every morning.
So, I keep some treats on the table as a trade when I want to finish
and put away the ball.  Tipper knows she gets a treat
just for waiting patiently!

This is Tipper waiting by the backdoor.  That dog does not
want to stay outside, especially with all the rain we've had
recently.  She makes a dash back to the door anytime
we go out for a bathroom break!

Little Annie
I found this sweet picture of my mom tucked in her wallet yesterday.  I don't know that I've ever seen this one before.  It was too cute not to share!
