Dad and Mom have some amazing friends who have stepped in to fill in the gaps when I haven't been in Conway. These pictures are from Thursday, August 2nd when Ken and Pat Waits came to visit and help tremendously! They have been vital in this journey!
Mr. and Mrs.
Uncle Louis has served many roles in getting my dad to assisted living as well. He has run errands, helped with appointments, talked peace and confidence to my dad, and been a huge support to me as well. Uncle Louis and Aunt Judy probably don't realize the priceless impact they've had! Blessings upon blessings! Picture from Sunday, August 5th.
Healthy challenges and living changes have weighed heavy on my parents. These are pictures from Sunday, August 5th, moments before Dad and I pulled out of the driveway. My hope and plan is that this is merely "see you later" as I move forward to reunite my parents in Texas...under much healthier circumstances. Pressing on...
Silly Selfie
Another jewel in the this process has been Sally. She has helped support and give insight through this process. She continues to check on Mom in Conway and works to make sure I'm moving forward with confidence and wisdom. Couldn't do it without her...or the many others who have poured into this process! Picture is from an earlier visit on July 13th.
On Sunday, August 5th, we moved furniture into Dad's new apartment. He looks pretty comfy on the loveseat so far. He was excited to see his familiar desk and dresser. A new tv and phone are next on the agenda! We're working to get closets unpacked, doctor visits made, and comforts of home in their places. A new "home sweet home", which will hopefully become comfort and a haven.
Today (Aug. 7) is the day Dad is expected to move into his new apartment. My plan is to spend the afternoon helping him navigate the new territory. I plan to spend the night with him to hopefully minimize confusion throughout the night.
